A elderly friend has a mac pro running 10.6.8 and cannot upgrade the OS.

He has lots of safari web archive files which are stored in the sidebar of finder and he uses them quite alot.

He has swapped to chrome recently due to issues with his older version on safari which he cannot upgrade due to old OS.

How can I convert these to open with chrome and still have them in finder side bar.

thanks guys for any help...

You may try to convert webarchive files to HTML. There is a tool called WebArchive Extractor (not tested) or you may try the command line utility included in OS X:

textutil -convert html website.webarchive
