Hello,

I recently lost my father in March of this year. I saved his last voicemail message left to me on my iPhone's visual voicemail.

One day after restarting my phone, I lost the voicemail, It just disappeared.

This voicemail is very important to me and my family as it was the last thing my father ever said to me. I really hope it can be retrieved. If anyone can help me in any way I'd be EXTREMELY grateful.

Thank you.

Neil

Sorry to hear of your father's loss.

You might want to state which Country you reside, and what Cell/Mobile provider you use, so that others may be able to assist you.

Good luck

Fido said they don't have the voicemail in their servers.

the voicemail isn't in the "deleted messages" folder. Its been permanently deleted.

I was under the impression that voicemails are stored on the carriers servers. Based on what they told you that would imply they are actually stored on the phone instead. If that is the case, do you have a full iTunes backup? It may be there although I'm not sure. I'll see if I can do some more research.

I have visual voicemail. Carrier said it deletes every 10 days on server and only stores on iphone.

The only thing I can find is this: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201436

The only thing that article mentions is
"If you insert a new SIM card, you might lose the visual voicemails that are saved on your iPhone."

But it doesn't state any other circumstances in which you could lose voicemails.

Have you tried restarting your iPhone again to see if somehow it's just a display bug?

when i plug my phone it itunes tells me my last backup was before the voicemail...its odd because i thought i had icloud backup

I've contacted the carrier and they said the voicemails are deleted from their server every 10 days...

I'm supposed to have backups automatically with icloud however im not able to restore from any. One thing i noticed however, is that at the bottom of icloud settings is says restore files, contact, calendars. When i click that, im able to see all the backups that have been erased. If im able to access those backups i will for sure be able to get my voicemail!

How do i do this?
