I'm thinking about recording lectures on my MacBook using Audacity. I don't think my internal MacBook microphone is sufficient enough for recording it, so I'm looking for suggestions.

As the MacRumors forums is the best place and the most reputable forum to discuss about hardware related/for use for an Apple hardware, I'm wondering if anyone needed a suggestion before.

Thanks in advance,

I bought a USB mic/headphone set from ebay for $1 for my netbook and it also works a treat on my mini. You can use any unpowered clip-on mic with it.

Any brands that you could suggest? I'm looking to get a good one. (What is an unpowered clip-on mic, btw?)

Also, any tips on improving audio quality in Audacity?
