    Hey guys,

Just got a Retina MBP 15" and need a fast external HD to store my Aperture and Lightroom libraries. What do you recommend?
    Thanks!

    First question:
    How large are your libraries?

Just get a 7200RPM 3.5" USB3 desktop external drive in the size you need. All the other drive companies have either been bought up by or merged with Seagate or Western digital, so just grab whichever of those you can get the best price on. No brand is any better than the other.

Look here and here for example.

My main libraries (Aperture) are on my Mac Pro tower. I have many terabytes of those.
This Retina MBP is mainly a secondary machine but many of my jobs will be performed on it at various locations.
