I am looking at both Fusion 10 and Parallels 13--I have used both in the past--and I am hoping for some feedback from users since I cannot find any direct testing comparing these two versions. I need to run two business programs on my Mac, one of which is MS Office. I am not gaming.

Things I am wondering about:
Stability of USB peripherals.
Stability of TB peripherals.
Does VMWare's support of Metal for graphics give it an edge over Parallels in speed and battery life?

Other thoughts or problems encountered?

[Edit: Feedback on Unity vs Coherence. Also, is Parallels still annoying users with ads in their paid version?]

I run Office as well and have been using Parallels for years. I am currently on Parallels Desktop 13 Pro.

I have no issues with USB devices or TB.

I don't use VMWare so I don't know. Performance in Parallels is always excellent. I run Coherence and it's flawless.

I have a subscription and there are no ads. They may show them in the standalone version.

Thank you for the feedback. Out of curiosity, why did you subscribe to the Pro version instead of the Standard version?

Simply because, at the time I did so there was an introductory offer on the Pro subscription for $49.99/year for life.

I realized I was buying the upgrade of the standard version every year for that same price and the Pro features really help for my use application with my work.

I use VMWare Fusion for 7 years now without any problem, Tried Parallels a couple of times but was not happy with.

I cut my virtual 'teeth' on Fusion 1, 2, and 4. I like the fact that they support Metal; not sure how much I care about touch bar support. I really just need stability and I appreciate both speed (which Fusion 10 seems to offer) as well as low resource requirements (as low as is possible with a VM).
