Recently during a regular update, my Iphone 3gs turned off and would not turn on. I have tried everything to fix it but my power button no longer functions rendering putting the phone in dfu mode impossible (?). This morning I connected it to itunes on my mac and it read! But when i tried to click restore it disappeared and would no longer show up in the list.

My pc's and mac will not detect the iphone and I can not put it in dfu mode.

Is their a way to put the iphone in dfu mode or some how use a program that will detect the iphone and create a way for me to restore it.

Thanks in advance.

(I've already tried redsn0w, tinyumbrella, Dr.Fone and nothing can detect it or requires dfu mode.)

The issue is that I can not get the iphone to read with redsnow or iTunes, and Help?

Sorry I'm not au fait with that aspect of iPhone.

All I need is a way to put it in dfu mode and i'm golden. Can anyone offer any help...please?

I really don't want this iphone to become a paperweight : /

Did you say that your sleep / wake button is broken? If so is that a physical problem with the button?
