I'm looking to upgrade the HDD on a black macbook that has 120gb HDD on it right now. I want at least 250gb on it. Where can I buy RAM and how much would it cost to add another 130gb? Thanks

RAM and HDD are not the same, the RAM stores open documents and applications for quicker access and interaction, the HDD stores everything you put on it for general access and storage.

Where do you live, as there are different vendors for different countries?

Anyway, do you want to upgrade your memory (called "RAM") or your storage capacity (called "HDD")?

after i posted i realized i stated that wrong. i need HDD not RAM. i live in canada and do not want to get it at the apple store because i suspect it will cost a lot more.

You can get any 2.5" S-ATA HDD with a maximum height of 9.5mm, thus providing you with up to 750GB currently. MacSales and Newegg are trsuted and often recommended vendors of electronic devices and they reside and ship on the Northern American continent.

hellhammer do you know if that product you pasted is less than 9.5mm?

In the end, it is your responsibility, so you need to check yourself.

2.5 inch hard drives come in 9.5 mm and 12.5 mm height. You may see "9mm" or "12 mm" as well, that's the same. Or you may see "1/8th" or "1/6th" which means they are 1/8th or 1/6th the height of a truly antique so-called "full height" drive; again, 1/8th will fit in your MacBook, 1/6th won't. If you don't see any of those numbers in the specs of the drive, don't buy it.
