Need help about networking

I am wondering how to find address in the network that start with \\

In window, i can just type \\follow with the address name in the network in IE

but i try to do the same thing in safari, it doesn't work....

Actually my mate share stuffs on the network and i need to get that stuffs.

If anyone knows how to do it, pls help because at this moment i can not get in to his machine

In the Finder go to the "Go" menu and "Connect to Server" that's where you'll enter that info. For Mac OS you don't have the same network setup with Safari as you do with IE in Windows. Just different.
