need help and advice on jailbreaking 3gs

hi all

my girlfriend just bough an iphone 3gs 8gb.
it seems to be already jailbroken but it doesnt seem to be operating well.
bit glitchie.

its os 4.3.3 with baseband 5.16.02 on the orange network.

i want to restore the factory os and then update it so i can jailbreak with redsnow or something to the latest software and unlock the network so she can use 02.

i recently jailbroke my iphone 4 with snowbreeze, but still waiting for 4.10.01 unlock and im not sure if i update the 3gs to 4.3.5 os that the baseband will be unlockable like the iphone 4 did to me... (that was a big opps)

any ideas how i restore and do a fresh jailbreak to be able to unlock it right?

You can't unlock it through a jailbreak. call orange and see if they can unlock it

No, but you would use Ultrasnow to unlock after jailbreaking. However, I doubt his baseband is compatible to be unlocked, so its out of the question...

unlocking it at orange sorted, just need to restore 4.3.3 without changing baseband 5.16.02 or does newest os 4.3.5 and bb ?.?.? cause any issues with jailbreaking on a 3gs?

I think with 4.3.5 Apple made it so that it's not possible to jailbreak the iPhone.

4.3.4/5 are tethered jailbreaks.. Not user-friendly at all.,

If you have SHSH blobs for 4.3.3, you can just restore to that and then jailbreak again with either Redsn0w or jailbreakme.com. If you want an unlock you'll either have to beg your carrier or resort to the iPad baseband.

hi, sry for delay trying to deal with it in iphonehacks side, but i checked the shshs and there is 4.1 and 4.3.5 but no 4.3.3 even though its version 4.3.3

i did find out just not that it was orignally jailbroken using the jailbreak.com site over the airwaves.... no pc... would that be causing me issues?
