I've decided to try Apple music subscription again. I tried it once in 2016.

I was very unhappy with the way Apple handled the iTunes match. I have an extensive iTunes library with purchased and ripped songs, that I have meticulously manage the metadata. However, when I tried Apple music in the past, Apple changed most of my album artwork and genres to match what they had on file.

Example: I have songs from the Daryl Hall TV show Live from Daryl's house where he has Guest artists come to his house and Perform their songs and his songs. With iTunes match In 2016, any Live from Daryl's house was uploaded as a Daryl Hall and Oates song with the same title. I want to avoid this from happening again. My workaround was to rename the artist as Daryl Hall & Friends.

I think I figured out my issue with most Music streaming services. They are algorithm-based; they're trying to figure out what I want to listen to. I have a wide range of musical tastes. Unfortunately, none of them seem to be able to dial in my likes and present them in the way I want. I will be doing a family share of Apple music, and I have several questions before committing.

1. Will I be able to change album art and genre and have it populate on all my devices with all family members?

2. Is there one device I should specify as a "Main Device" to manage Apple music?

3. If so, that would be a 2019 iMac running Mac OS X 10.14.6 Mojave and iTunes 12.9.5.5, using this older software calls an issue?

4. How easy is it to share playlists between family members?

5. Is there a way to exclude artists you never want to hear?

Thanks
