I have a late 2009 8-core Nahalem Mac Pro. And I was using it for over a year now without any problem. I have it dual boot with Windows 7 and OS X 10.6.6. I usually boot into Windows by holding down the option key at start up. But yesterday, after restarting from Windows, holding the option wouldn't give me the boot option anymore. It went straight into OS X. I restart and try holding both option buttons and it did work, I tried it with a different keyboard and it didn't work either. I go to System Prefs-> Startup Disk, and the Windows disk didn't show up in the startup list, but it still showed up in the Finder.

I tried resetting the SMC, didn't work. Also tried to reset PRAM, but since the option button (or my be the whole keyboard) wasn't recognized, the resetting process didn't went through.

Keyboard all working fine in Mac OS, I just want to load into Windows, and now i'm stuck.

I need help please.

Thanks I will try that when i get back home later today.

Any thoughts on why doesn't the option key work?
