Hello. I'm fairly new to mac and I need to downgrade from 10.5 to 10.4. I put in the black disc labeled "Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.6 Install DVD" but it tells me "Mac OS X 10.4 cannot be installed on this machine." Anyone know other ways to try?

    Thanks!

    What machine do you have?

If it is an Intel Mac, then you cannot use that disc. You'd have to use the restore discs the machine came with.

Back everything up, erase and install 10.4, move everything back over.

Wait a minute ... I have a feeling the disc will not work, period.

    OP: Don't erase anything.

It's a white macbook. If my disc will not work, where can I get one that will?

That disc will not work. You can only use the gray ones that came with it.
