I've looked everywhere and cannot find any help on how to downgrade from Mountain Lion to Snow Leopard. I have the original install discs for Snow leopard and I have Time Machine back ups. How can I go about doing this? Thanks in advanced.
What exact Macs are you both talking about?
2012 Macs will not run Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, only 2011 Macs will be able to run Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard (though the 2011 MBA might be a bit difficult due to a new TB chip in it).
PS: I don't know about using TM backups from Mac OS X 10.7 Lion or OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, as I still run Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and don't use TM.
I can't speak for the OP, but both of my machines are 2011 Macs (iMac and MBP to be exact).
But yeah, I seem to recall reading that post-Lion TM backups aren't usable in SL. I know I can roll back the OS with a fresh install, but it's not worth it if I have to reinstall all my software and migrate tons of data.
