iPod touch Need help - dropped touch alarm volume low

Hello,
My son dropped his iPod touch and after that he noticed that the keypad and also the alarm volume is about 1/3 of what it used to be. The sound is fine through the earbuds. Is there anything that could be done with the settings to restore the keypad/alarm settings? Any advice would be sincerely appreciated. Hopefully we are not out of luck.
