So summer is almost here (yay!) and since I live in FL that means I'll be in the pool a lot and at the beach as well. And for this I am looking for a good waterproof case for my iPhone 5s. I got an OtterBox Armor from Amazon for $20 but, since I have a tempered glass screen protector on, it didn't work and let some water in when I tried submerging it in the pool. The thing is, I don't really want to use the case all the time. I would like to just put it on when going in the pool or to the beach. So I still need the tempered glass on when I'm not by the water. UNLESS I was to get a case that I wouldn't mind being on all the time; the only one I could think I might be able to be ok with using all the time is the lifeproof nuud. I have also looked at the Griffin survivor+catalyst but again then I would have to take the screen protector off for it to work. Anyone have advice on a good waterproof case? Should i get a lifeproof nuud to use all the time, or should I simply get one of those cheap waterproof plastic bags???

No waterproof case will work with a screen protector. It will need to come off..

If you don't want to mess with your protector, you'll probably have to resort to the waterproof pouches.

Yeah I would prefer not to mess with the protector. I love the tempered glass and would hate to switch to a film one, especially when the cases still might not work with them. I really like the griffin survivor catalyst cause it seems to be designed for purposely taking your iPhone to the beach or in the pool. But again I'd have to go without the protector. How well do those pouch things work?

Have you looked at the Incipio Atlas ID? It has a glass screen protector instead of a plastic one. You'd have to remove the tempered glass screen protector currently installed on your phone to get it to fit in the case though. I had the original Atlas for my iPhone 5 and loved it. It's too bad they aren't making versions for the 6/6+...

I have looked at that one and I do like that there is a tempered glass protector on it, but I am looking for something I can slip on and off when I want to use it in or around water, so I need to be able to keep a screen protector on my phone. And I really don't think any of the waterproof cases would work with a screen protector on, even a thin one. I either need to find one I can use full time (I'm considering the lifeproof nuud for this), or one that can work with a screen protector on, or just get a dirt cheap pouch. Hmmmm....

I have never used a waterproof case or pouch. I was in your situation, and did not want to remove my tempered glass and full body protector. In the end, I just went without and decided I didn't need to take my phone in the water.

I'm just gonna go for one of those $8.50 pouches. I really like the lifeproof nuud; however I don't think I would like having it on all the time and I'm not sure just how reliable it is.

Change of plans. I found this case and think I might go with it for everyday use; meaning I wouldn't need the tempered glass screen protector! What do you guys think? http://www.catalystlifestyle.com/collections/frontpage/products/catalyst-case-for-iphone-5-5s-pacific-blue

I use a pouch myself. I had my bag stolen on the beach a couple of years ago so phone goes in Pouch and Pouch has string that goes around my neck when i am in the water.
