Hi everyone,
I’m trying to identify a delisted or listed iOS game I saw someone playing around 2025 recently . It was a spooky pixel art puzzle game with stealth mechanics and a mini-game hub. I didn’t play it myself—I saw a girl playing it and the visuals stuck with me ever since. I’ve searched the App Store, Reddit, and archive sites but haven’t found a match.
What I remember:
• Platform: iOS (Free-to-play, possibly ad-supported with IAP)
• Visuals: Foggy graveyard or dock-edge maps, thick mist with candles/pumpkins lighting paths
• Gameplay:• Tap-based, turn-limited movement (rook/bishop style)
• Pushable chess pieces used for puzzle-solving
• Ghost/spirit enemies patrolled predictable paths
• You could dig graves or loot chests mid-level for keys/gems
• Skull soul retry screen on death (used coins/gems or restart)
• Structure:• Hub/menu with multiple mini-games and park-themed icons
• Levels were numbered, possibly chapter-based
• Daily progression bar: “1 out of 14” chest/gem rewards
• Leaderboards with usernames and friend scores
• UI: Black menu with colored highlights
• Tone: Spooky, playful, strategic (no combat or cash prizes)
Not:
Pawnbarian, Guardian Tales, Pumpkin Panic, A Grave Soul, 幽灵墓地, Shadowveil Crypt, Door Kickers, or anything currently on the App Store.
The name I vaguely remember is Chessmist Haunt, possibly by a dev called “GloamPixel,” but I haven’t found any trace of it.
If anyone remembers this game—or has screenshots, IPA backups, or even a ghost of a memory—I’d be incredibly grateful. Thanks!
