It seems my Software Raid 1 broke down last night. I have used two Maxtor external firewire HDD's in a Raid for about two years now. Last night my Mac informed me the Raid was now degraded. One of my drives works just fine and all my data is still on that drive but the second drive shows up in Disk Utility as size null or 0 bytes and I'm not sure how to proceed. I tested the second (bad) drive on a windows computer with SeaTools and it passed every check I ran. I have attached a screen shot of Disk Utility. I am not sure if I should reformat the bad drive or if I should RMA it to Seagate. Any advice or help would be great.

I suggest reformatting first, RMAing after. RAIDs occasionally fail, especially software RAIDs, so I say reformat, re-add it to the array, and see what happens. If it fails a second time, send it back for sure.
