Okay thanks for the advice.
The printer actually came with the computer. So i have one in the box new and ready to go.
Im pretty good with these forums and stuff so it shouldnt be a problem.
Are there any top application lists anywhere besides youtube for stuff to download?

Some apps that I recommend (being a college student myself):

iProcrastinate - (helps you keep track of homework assignments, to dos, etc.)

iHomework - (keeps track of homework assignments)

iWork or the MS package (which you said was included)?

Caffeine - (menu bar app that when activated will keep your screen from dimming/computer from going to sleep, for when reading a long article or watching a video)

iStat Pro - widget that monitors things like battery health, temperatures of all macbook components, processes, uptime, fan speed, etc.

Evernote - cool app on which you can take notes. also, adds an extension to safari that allows you to clip web pages, then adds them to Evernote so you can read an article (or whatever you want) conveniently at a later time, even when you don't have internet access.

good luck and enjoy your mac!

Okay thanks a lot.
I dont mean to change the topic but im just wondering.
I see you have a second generation ipod.
As do i, is your battery life starting to be less and less?

it is..I almost never turn it off..and with just playing a few games and listening to music in the car, my battery lasts for about a day and a half..really annoying.

Same here. Its getting worse everyday, i think my cydia theme is killing it the most.

And and update, i just bought a 1.5 tb external harddrive for 94.99.
Is there a difference between a ssd and an external hard drive?

I recommend getting a nice monitor that does 1920x1200 or 1920x1080, just so you are comfortable editing the video/films.

It should be fine with processing videos but you might want extra RAM to make things work a little smoother and quicker. There's a thread about sending RAM to OWC and getting credit, and it ends up being u pay $67 for 8GB of RAM.

The two are very different animals. An external hard drive is just that; a hard disk with platters that lives outside the computer. An SSD is a solid state drive that uses flash memory instead of magnetic platters; as a result they are VERY fast compared to a hard drive, but also VERY expensive relative to a hard drive with prices in the $2/GB range depending on model and size.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solid-state_drive for more info.

Oh that makes sense, wouldnt that make it possible to make hard drives with much more memory?

And ive been editing with premiere pro cs5 for the past 2 days, i dont have a problem with the screen size at all. Especially considering the fact that i used to have to edit on a net book. hahaha
