Hi, I am in the market for a new Mac, I have a iMac that I am trying to sell but I want to get a computer as fast as possible so I won't be (god forbid) computer less lol. I really want to get a Mac pro but I just need something that can handle games like portal, portal 2, l4d 1/2, halflife 2, that kind of stuff. These r my choices but if u have any recommendations I would like to hear them.

Are any of these good, I understand they need some upgrade like ram and junk but are any of these a good deal?
Thanks in advance for the replies :D

If you want something for games and don't want to be left penniless after buying a mac pro, I would suggest either building a pc or looking into a pre-built one. I was just looking at HP desktops, and you can get one with a 3.1GHz quad-core i5 2500K, 6GB RAM, and an NVIDIA 2GB video card for $630.

Cool where is this deal and can I install Mac os but the thing is that I won't be penniless but I just like the style of a Mac

If you want style, sure a mac pro would be "better," I guess...but in my mind a computer is just a computer, and it's not worth it to end up paying several thousand dollars more just for looks, to get the exact same specs as another machine. Also, you can hackintosh a windows desktop if you really want OSX.

Just my 2c, I would never buy a mac pro if something else is just as powerful for half the price. ;)

"I really want to get a Mac pro"

Think long and hard before buying a Mac Pro right now.

The current design hasn't been updated in almost two years, so you will essentially be buying a technology that is "two years behind".

Apple may or may not be working on a new Mac Pro, but there aren't even rumors of it being ready for release soon.

You probably would be better to hold off buying an iMac, Mac Mini, or MacBook Pro. ALL of these are due for updates in the next few months, some very soon.

As another poster wrote, if your main concern is gaming, get another PC.

Keep thinking about Macs, but it would be very unwise to run out and buy RIGHT NOW....

If you're seriously into gaming, get a pc.

If you can't live without OS X, build a hackintosh

If you really want a mac, wait a bit

Avoid gainsaver at all costs.

Why, what makes it bad?
