I love the app and has been using this quite often. I have a question though, is there a way I can make it to alert me in making a turn at least 1 mile before the turn or maybe at least .5 mile and not just .2 mile which seems the default distance before it alert me to make a turn, sometimes that doesn't give me time to change lanes? I cannot seem to find this option anywhere.

And also I noticed when I'm on a route and I check the options, there's an option there called 'block'? What does it do? Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It gives turn warnings 2 miles before, 0.5 miles before, and then a few hundred feet before the turn. Obviously, if you're not on a road that long, it can't give all those warnings, but it definitely does if it can. If you have a turn very soon after a turn, it says something like "turn right on Main, and then turn left on Pine," which prepares you. Also, it shows you what lane you should be in and it gives you the graphic showing the turn on the screen.

As for the block feature, I think it breaks down the route into smaller segments. I haven't used it though.

Well, I did a search and found this:
I haven't use it much but based on my experience, a "Block" is a forced detour - an immediate avoid. So if you are in traffic - or in an accident or construction slowdown - and would like to avoid the next stretch of road, setting a "Block" will look for the first alternate route around the selected distance .5, 1, 2, 3, etc miles - the number of options (or distances) to block depends on how long your route is.
