Hi,
I just recently install window 7 32 bit via bootcamp. The process went well and i m able to start window 7. However, i notice that on my computer in window 7. There is a bootcamp partition and a macintosh partition as well. I am able to access the macintosh partition and see all the files, apps that is in my mac os. The question is that can the macintosh partition be infected by virus or somehow changes some setting???? If so, how can i disable it so that it wont appear and not get infected by virus?????
I know that window can read the mac partition on bootcamp but not write. I am not sure how this work so can someone help explain how this work??? Will the mac partition be infected virus or damage and change anything setting that related to mac os????

Can some plz help me????
I trying to understand this cuz i dont want anything wrong with the mac partition or to get it infected by viurs...

No, you won't get a virus on your mac partition, as windows viruses can't harm a mac. Plus windows can't write to the mac partition, so all you can do is see the files on that side, but not do anything to them.

i heard that even though the mac partition cant be write but the virus still can read ur mac partition so it can still steal or do something with ur information in the mac partition. isnt that still the same as ur mac partition get infected by virus and still damage???? can someone help to explain more clearly????

this is the first time i use window with bootcamp so i am not really sure. And can i scan the mac partition in window with anti-virus scanner??? what other security method that u guys use with window via bootcamp????

There would be no point scanning a the Mac partition from the Boot Camp partition because as Windows can't write to the Mac partition which means a virus would not be able to write itself to that partition. Therefore, nothing can be added, deleted or altered on the Mac partition from Windows in Boot Camp. The reason why Windows can see the Mac partition is because Apple provided a driver among the Boot Camp drivers for Windows to read the HFS+ file system. You have nothing to worry about.

For security, I use Microsoft Security Essentials as my antivirus program. It's light-weight, fast and it doesn't bug you with useless information and only popups up a message when it detects something dodgy.

If you want to take some precaution, I suppose you could remove the drive letter from the Mac partition so that Windows doesn't see the drive when you open My Computer in Windows Explorer. I'm not totally sure if this would add any benefits security wise.
