i read the apple thing, went to sears and bought this screwdriver http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/prod...l=TOOL&subcat=Screwdrivers&BV_UseBVCookie=Yes phillips 00. but when i tried to unscrew the screws it wouldnt, anyone know what i can do? it seems as though the tip is too tall for the screw. thanks
Just to state the plain obvious; it sounds as if you need a bigger screwdriver. According to the www.ifixit.com disassemble guide you need a Phillips #0 Screwdriver. Not knowing anything about the Phillips Screwdriver size chart one would think that a size #00 screwdriver would be smaller than a size #0. I would give a size #0 a try.
thanks, im pretty mad about this, Step 2: Installing the new Memory 1. Using a Phillips size 00 screwdriver, unscrew the memory door and remove it from the battery bay of your computer. from: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303491
The right screwdriver shouldn't run more than $5 I think. Also, careful with it around the MBP...one slip and you'll have a nice big scratch.
