Please can somebody give me some advice,

i need to clean up my Macbook to sell, its pretty full up now and i want to sell it as if it was new, but i dont have the original disk it was supplied with.

Can i download a version of osx as a disk image put it onto a disk and restore that way? if so how?

Is there anyother way of doing this??

Thank

Tom

What version are you running? If you have lion or Mountain Lion you can just reboot holding the option key and go into the installer. There you can erase your hard drive and install Lion and Mountain Lion again.

If you do not have that, you could upgrade.

If you don't want to pay you could try to find a friend who bought Snow Leopard
or a version before that and still has the disk.

Just so you know, the disks that come with your mac are mac specific. So when someone offers those, they wont work. They have to be bought (either bought as an upgrade or all new).

You can count on the fact that Apple won't give you a Disk. Even if you pay.

If nothing else works you could try to search the internet for an older version you can download and burn to a disk.

Im running lion 10.7.4 but i do not have the disk.

If i reboot holding the options key do i then need the disk?

If i can download another version of lion, can i use the disk image from a usb stick?

sorry for the questions, its really hard to find an answer!
