On MacOS 10.15.3 and trying to get my phone to let me answer calls and whatnot when on my MacBook. On my phone I've gone to general settings, phone, enable calling on other devices, and when I turn that on it states "Cannot Turn on Calls on Other Devices-FaceTime and iCloud must be signed in to the same Apple ID to enable Calls on Other Devices".

On my MacBook book both my FaceTime and my iCloud are showing the same AppleID login as my phone. I can already answer texts. They are also both connected to the same network. I don't know what else to do can anyone assist?

I would try signing out on both the phone and Macbook then signing back in. Also make sure Bluetooth, wifi, and cellular are on. Does Airdrop work between the phone and Macbook? Do both the Macbook and iPhone show up under your Apple ID account (in the iPhone Settings app, click on your Apple ID)?

So this is very odd. I just took a call from my boss on my MacBook (YAY) and my phone under the settings it says the option is on however when I go into that options the "Allow calls on other devices" is still unselected and it still gives me the error when I try to enable it. Must be a bug. Thank you for the help though!

Maybe your carrier is adding "Wi-Fi calling on other iCloud devices" and it's bugging out your settings page while they implement the back-end.

That's a rarely implemented option on smaller carriers, but it allows you to take calls without the phone (could be left off). But without it, your phone and Mac need to be on the same wifi network to communicate between the two. Anyways, if your carrier is messing around with implementing it but not fully implemented already it might bug out your settings as it returns an error when it checks the carrier for support.

I've also had to enable HD calling, voLTE, and wi-fi calling with a carrier page (AT&T) that I could only access on LTE, so I would check the carrier options on the iPhone to see if anything could be enabled. With wi-fi calling you have to submit your address for emergency purposes.
