Ok so my dads 3gs is on 3.1.2 and has been since he got it. Now one of his apps that he uses fequently only works on 4.0 or higher. When I plug his phone in it asks me to register it, which i just did, then either set up as a new phone or restore from a backup of my phone. Is there any way to update it without restoring it? If i set up as a new phone will he lose all of his contacts? Any help is greatly appreciated and Im sorry in advance if theres already a thread about this
