Need HELP with 17" POWERBOOK

i found a ebay auction with a 17" powerbook g4 having lines on the creen, he says its the video data cable and has a replacement. do you think its the cable or the screen itself?

really, the guy has good feedback on ebay... but i just dont know whether its the cord or something much more expensive

I would not spend money on a laptop that may have a major (possibly expensive) issue.

It is definitely the 17" LCD panel... lookup "Vertical lines" common issue....
