So, while my ipod was jailbroken (1.1.3 jailbreak software, i believe. i have a first gen ipod touch, so i've had it a while), i downloaded a background changing software, obviously, as that is what all the cool kids do. And in compliance with the cool kids guidelines, i also changed the background to this certain picture. However, once the new software came out (i am up to date, currently, but i'm talking about 2.0, for now) i upgraded, and restored my ipod. It is not jailbroken anymore, but the background pictured stayed. Everytime i try to change it, it says the picture was changed, but it's the same picture when i look at it. Yes, i'm talking about the lock screen, not the black home screen background, i know you cant change that. Can anyone help with that? I've restored multiple times, etc, but it doesnt fix it

I think that whenever you set originally the picture it got marked as read only. So now when the iPod tries to change it the picture cannot be overwritten. You could restore your iPod and then select setup as a new iPod. This will remove the picture, settings, and any app data. Your music should be saved on your PC so just sync it back over. Or you could jailbreak it and remove the picture in /private/var/mobile/Library/LockBackground.jpg via an SSH programme. This will allow you to keep your settings and change the picture. If you go the jailbreak path I recommend using Redsn0w 9.3.
