I'm familiar with Apple's Pages but believe Numbers (which I'm not very familiar with even though it looks similar to Pages) is better suited to what I'm trying to achieve (a daily health log) and could need some starter help.
The general idea is to have several columns where the first one is the weekday and date.
To simplify things; is it possible to for instance click in some specific place (i.e. an empty column cell?) and today's weekday and date is automatically inserted? That would make things a whole lot easier than manually entering it all the time.
This will be the initial entry, for creating the current day's log.
Next I see several columns, all with pre-selectable values.
For instance a column entitled "Sleep quality" and when the cell for today's entry is clicked I get to choose between:
1. Slept all night
2. Some wakeups
3. Many wakeups
4. Couldn't sleep
... and similar pre-selectable values for other things.
If I'm not mistaken, with multiple columns like that I'll be able to create statistical charts to better illustrate how things affect each other (i.e. certain eating habits or activities affect sleep patterns), right?
I also want to add a "comment" column for any sort of additional comment, freely typed in, which (obviously) won't be usable with the charts, but may help determine if I need to create additional columns with pre-selectable values as well.
Oh, a column with a checkbox (i.e. leave checked or unchecked) would be useful for some of the columns instead of multiple choices.
Is Numbers a suitable app for doing what I've described here? If not, what app/kind of app would be better suited?
I'm using Numbers 6.1 on a Mac running MacOS 10.14.6 (Mojave).
