Ive been trying to figure this out for along time but could anybody help me figure out how to do a logo highlight?

I want to bring in a logo, then as it is in place, create the white blur that highlights across the logo that gives it a nice finish. Hopefully someone here knows what I am talking about that can assist me. I use Final Cut Pro X.

Thanks guys!

Have you gone into your effects and have you looked on YouTube. Type in FCP-X and see what comes up.

yes, but i dont know what the effect is technically called to narrow it down. It is commonly used on almost all commercials with the logos at the end.

light sweep, or light pass.

I dont use FCP-x so I cant help you there. Do you have the adobe suite or access to after effects?

But, you could possiblly cheat the effect if you dupe the logo layer on top of it self, changing it to white (via some color correction filters) change the blend mode to add, add a blur filter to blur it a bit (all of this creates a whitish glow) and then use some mask controls to animate a sliver of the white logo layer above the logo below it.

look up garbage matte in FCP-x tutorials for help with using masks in FCP-x.

I use that technique in AE alot.. easy to do once you learn how to do it
