Yea, ok, that's good logic... I deserve to be scammed because I was thoughtful enough to go online and post on an mac website about this crazy offer that I just got...

Call me crazy, but I don't think I deserve to be scammed.

Well, you haven't been living under a rock obviously. So in the past 3 years, the news has been full of scams on craigslist and stuff about Nigeria. Along with it being on the Internet. Question is, where were you? I say that nicely. There's not a week that goes by that someone doesn't post some thread about is this a scam or how do I sell on eBay. Really? Should you be doing either at that point is what I say to myself.

Granted there is the "new" excuse. Which is fine to a certain point but again, common sense should be kicking in after you read "shipping" "pay $100 extra" and "nigeria".

I don't mean to be an ass at all. It just baffles me. However I will give you some really good advice that will help you so you see I am not so bad after all :)

Post your ad on craigslist but leave your email HIDDEN! Offer only a phone numbe that allows people to call or txt you only. This will end your spam 100%. The ad will not have an email for scammers to click and use. This also means that only those that are serious will contact you. Also state local sale, cash only and no shipping in your add.

Good luck! :)

Ok so I posted my 32gb iphone 3gs on craigslist today and immediately got a response back wondering if I still had the iphone. And then it starts getting crazy.

This buyer is telling me that she will give me my asking price ($400) plus an additional $100. All I have to do is give her my paypal email and then ship the iphone to her son in Nigeria. She says she cannot meet in person because she is leaving on a peace keeping mission to kosovo.

Is this a scam?

Any suggestions?

Tell them her offer is accepted, once you receive the funds (cash!) from Paypal, you'll send the phone. Chances are you won't hear from them again, but then again maybe you'll be up $100!. Most importantly, you won't be out a phone....

SCAM.

When it comes to craigslist I only will meet in a public place, and only for exact change cash. no exceptions ever. if they even know i have a bank account i've said too much.

Please, they pay with stolen accounts. The money will be reversed after you send the phone....

Don't worry everyone, I didn't fall for it.

I knew it sounded fishy.

I lowered the price on my listing already too...

I don't understand people that try to scam someone with the word Nigeria. Are they stupid or what? Everyone knows that Nigeria is a synonym for scam, spam, fraud, con, flimflam, lie, theft, burglary, etc.

Are they really that naive?

Great site for reading up on scams and getting a laugh or two! these guys give the scammers a hard time.

BTW yes it's a scam! ;) they have computer cafes in Nigeria where allot of these scams are run from. Sadly they give Nigeria a very bad name.
