Hey there, I have Windows 7 so I couldn't figure out where to put this post but iTunes is made by Apple so I thought this would be the appropriate place to put this, move it if it's wrong thanks.

Alright I'm a bit of a noob with iTunes and song data, anyway the problem I have is when I download or rip music from a CD to iTunes it comes through like 'Track 1' with blank artists or the song data is just screwed up, anyway I've made it so iTunes copies the music to it's library so It's all there, I always change the data and organize it in iTunes by clicking get info and so on, alright the problem is if my computer crashes and I have a back up of the music or I want to give some of my music to a friend, when I go to add the music back to my iTunes the data has went back to 'Track 1' and such and there's like 2000 songs I need to redo, is there a way so that when I change the data for songs, it's permanently embedded in the file? Like metadata? I thought it had something to do with ID3 but I'm too afraid to do anything, my iTunes is currently fixed but I want to make sure the titles and data I've put into them are embedded so I can back it up and just add them again if there's ever a problem with it again without having to add all the data back in, help would be much appreciated, thank you.

The lack of full stops or paragraphs made it hard to understand so sorry if you said this, but do you let iTunes organize your media folder? If so, just back up the entire iTunes folder (in ~/Music).

All the data that you entered in the tags in iTunes will be saved to those files, you probably just backed up the files before you added the tags!

Hey I'm really sorry if I didn't make sense, but you understood which means you will always have a place in my heart <3 ;) Thanks but I figured out another way to do it, if I just select all the songs in my iTunes and drag them to a folder, it copies all the songs into it with tags embedded :)
