I recently moved my iTunes library (both the media files and the .lib files) to my external hard drive. The only problem is iTunes looks for that library, and if it isn't found iTunes creates a new library. Is there any way to disable this auto-new-library feature so I just get an error if I don't have the hard drive plugged in? :apple::apple::apple:

Missing glasses missed some letters, even sentences, which only made me comprehend the half of it.
Stupid eyes, even if cereal.

Hold down the OPTION/ALT key during the startup of iTunes to select your iTunes Library file on the external HDD.

Or did you already do that?

Unfortunately I don't know of a way to do this... I've wanted this feature in the past too. :(
