I create a new logo every once in a while and I need help with my newest one. It's been a while since I have made one and am not feeling my artistic ability.

These are logos for my stage name DJ-C (or Rap-C - depends on where you are). And I would like some ideas about the colors I could use, or the placements of the letters.

    Here are a few examples (they are all in 1080p resolution - 1920x1080);

What I'm looking for is ideas for arrangement of the letters. I can stretch them and fit them to what I want. I would like to have something that is altogether and easy to remember.

The only one that has anything going for it, is the third one. I really don't like any of the others, personally. Leave the rest alone, and concentrate on the third 'DJC' design.

Play about with font, and arrangement. When I read it, my eye switches from reading DJC one moment, to DCJ the next.

    Hope this helps.

I agree with MagicWok - the 3rd is the only one with any real potential.

Refine this to a point where you are completely happy & you should have something great.

Personally I think the first and second have more potential to develop for your target market, at least in terms of overall style.

I think that the third one is perfectly fine as a logo, but the overlapping serif font style is commonly used for many "three initial" firms or partnerships, at least in the UK. To me, it says law firm or accountancy rather than DJ. That said, you could take that sort of "formal" font and make something along the lines of the Ministry of Sound logo?

    Just my 2¢.

I'd personally go for chunky, sans serif fonts for your market (as per first two of your samples). Letter placement - maybe wrap the stem of the "J" around the bowl of the "D"; possibly use a stylised vinyl record to form the "C"?

Thanks for the help guys, really getting the ideas flowing! I just thought of one out of my just waking up daze. I could have two "C"s one backwards and one forwards and set it up like the third logo. Another idea is to have a record as a background and have DJ written on the vinyl and C written on the center.

I think the third one.. by a long way
Maybe something reversed out would work too? bit like this... (you could do much more with the black shape like adding imagery or something)
And the letters need more work to make them 'fill-out' the shape a bit more and form a more distinctive outline.
    [please excuse very quick mock-up]

Hey that is a great mockup! All you would need to do is spread the words out from the middle so you have a place for the center and then "pump" the letters up to fill the space. Let me work on some of that and get some mockups out.

Here we go. Personally I like the 4th one the best, it has more personality which is what I want. It's easy to remember and somewhat unique. I also like the lettering in the second, the way it looks on the record is good.

Yeah, the fourth one is my fave. I could change the color of the eyes to match the color of the month or something like that. Could also get another "C" and make a smiley out of it, but I dunno how I would make that fit without making it too busy.

Both posts you seem to have one that stands out. Not that it's a bad thing, it makes things easier. :D

I'd say, that the 2nd option you've presented here is the best logo out of all shown... Although, I like where you're going with the first one too - and can be quite strong after a small bit of refinement. :) It is easier to read DJC in that order, rather than DCJ by accident.

I really like the use of the vinyl graphic which nicely tells you the context without being blatant/obvious. Font is quite nice actually, try making it a little larger perhaps?

Options 5 to 9, whilst a good exercise in playing around with type, aren't really suitable for logos - in this instance... Also, I would avoid making images/pictures/faces out of type lol.

    Hope, again, this all helps...

I took your suggestion about the logo you liked best. Check it out here www.djcbeats.com - My own website finally! It isn't final but I just wanted to see how it looked and stuff. Thanks for the help everyone!
