I am the proud new owner of my first Mac....an iMac. I also am the owner of a Logitech Squeezebox which will allow me to cull together all of my online music (i.e. iTunes, Pandora, streaming radio stations, etc...) and play it all through my home stereo if I choose.

However, the Squeezebox requires an ethernet or wireless G signal. My internet connection is digital (Comcast). So next I was told by an aquaintance that I need to get a wireless router in order to convert my digital internet signal into the proper wireless signal needed to use the Squeezebox device through my home stereo or computer.

I checked Chicago Craigslist for people selling wireless routers and have found a guy who is selling a wireless B router for $10 bucks. Will this work?
If so, what are some cautions to watch for. If not, should I buy a wirless G router. All very new terms to me so I was hoping there was someone out in Mac Forum land who is better versed about this stuff.

    Thanks!

That $10 router in theory should work. I would not buy a $10 router off of craigslist myself but that's just me. Things that you need to consider when purchasing a router are. How far are you trying to connect to it through wireless? What speeds are you trying to achieve for transferring data? That B router might be slow at syncing/buffering files to be played. I myself along with many others in here have the Airport Extreme Base Station (AEBS) and I love it . It works great has an awesome range, and great performance especially at N speeds, but it is pricey at $170 retail maybe $150 refurbished. But it is a great bang for your buck.
