Resolved Need help with new MacBook Pro

I’m coming from a 2015 15” MBP which I had told because it was a bit large for me. I know they have the new 13” MBP 2 and 4 core. Wondering is I really need 4? I want a snappy machine but at the end of the day I just do email, web, some spreadsheets etc. nothing too fancy. It looks like they are $1799! Any ideas here ? Thanks

I think what you're asking is: I'm considering a 13-in MBP and not sure if it's better as a 2-core or 4-core. If you're not doing anything CPU intensive, such as video or pro-level photography, the 2-core will be fine.

The dual core system is lasrt years (2017) non-touchbar model. The 2018 13" MBPs all have touchbars and quad core processors. If the price is $1799 for a dual core have you configured it with a larger SSD or some other options?

If you are Ok with the older dual core model you might just want to wait a few weeks and see if the rumored updated Air and/or MacBook appear.

You’re not going to be able to tolerate the screen on the exiting Air. So I echo the advice to wait for the update.

They're materially different units. I wouldn't consider the nTB. I would go for the 13" TB, or the 12" MacBook. But the Air and 13" nTB should be considered out of scope IMO sine there is the new 13" allegedly coming down the pipe.

Different battery, processor, wifi etc.

Thanks - coming from a 15 a 12 is too small so a 13 should be good.
