So I've downloaded the full version of Sparrow for Mac and I've managed to add my Yahoo, Gmail and my college's account. But I'm having some problems adding my Hotmail account. It asks for the IMAP Server and Port. Hotmail's IMAP Server is pop3.live.com and the Port is 995. But when I enter it and click next I keep getting this message "Connection to the mail server could not be established. Either your connection is not available or the mail server is unavailable". So what shall I have for the IMAP Server instead?

Unless there was a recent change, Hotmail does not support IMAP.

I could be wrong but I think the only way to get Hotmail with IMAP is to be a premium user which means you have to pay a yearly fee for hotmail. As a regular user you can only use pop3 or set it up as an exchange account, neither of which is supported by Sparrow.

POP3 is POP3, not IMAP, so Sparrow doesn't support it. You'll have to set up forwarding through GMail to get it.

Why not use OS X's default mail app? It supports Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail no problems.

Btw, Hotmail is POP3, not IMAP.

Sparrow at first supported only Gmail accounts. But it got updated and now it supports Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. Which is the main reason why I downloaded it in the first place. Check the link: http://www.businessinsider.com/sparrow-update-2011-3

There has to be a way I could add my Hotmail account. :(

That's a magazine website.

I'd suggest checking out Sparrow's Website. Or even reading their Mac App Store summary and feature list.

I see no mention of Hotmail on their official supported services list.

I would like to resurrect this thread
as I have just discovered Sparrow,
and so far, love it.

How do I change the order in which
my emails are listed?

Currently, the newest email goes to
the top of the list. I would like it
instead to go to the bottom.

Can't figure out how to change that order.

Thanks
