Im creating a intro Movie in livetype i have an object that rotates using the clockwise effect i have it spinning fine but i want to slow it down to a stop, but i cant within in the time frame i want it. (25 seconds) i currently copying the effect over & over reducing the speed but it can't fit inside the time limit. see below link for what ive done http://smogsy.co.uk/SV/L4D/introfc.mp4 could anyone help me with steps on how to create the slow down to a stop? thanks
Thats a pretty cool logo. I might be misunderstanding what you mean here, but to make it stop, simply make sure your text track is longer than your effect time... so make your rotation effects last 20 seconds, and your text track last 25. I think I might not understand your question 100% though
I'm not sure you can do variable speed changes within Livetype. Do you have motion, after effects or final cut?
hunter the only trouble with your suggestion was to get it slow down how you suggested it would of taken over a minute to stop. here's how i done it. i found a way to slow down the logo, it was very easy i just didn't reliease that you could make own effects in livetype. to slow it down i created my own effect using the below settings: KeyFrame 1: 3000 rotation between Key frame 1 -2 Keyframe 2 : 2000 rotations between key frame 2-3 and repeated till i hit 0 it gives the effect that the logo is slowly stopping. My Intro now http://smogsy.co.uk/SV/L4D/IntroSmog.mp4 any reccomendation is appreicated
Hi Smogsy, Another way would be to import the LiveType file into FCP and use the Motion tab to keyframe the spin. The advantage of doing it this way would be the ability to control click on the keyframes you set and choose smooth to get a smoother transition to a slowing/stopping rotation. You might have to experiment by dragging the smoothed frame out a little etc. to get the effect you desire. Alternatively you could use Motion for even finer control of keyframes if you have it. Cheers.
