Hello, I'm new to the forums and was wondering f anyone could help me.

I have a PS2 slim, and i have to always enter the password when I want to watch a dvd on it. I know my password and know how to reset it, but i don't want to have to enter it at all any more.

The thing is that when I go into the setup menu and go to click on the parental control setup in it it is white/gray and not blue thus not letting me change it. I have tried to look up ways to fix this via google but none of them work.

Does anyone know how to make it so that the parental control goes back to blue so that I can change the level of security from 1 to 8?

    Thank you in advance.

It's been quite a while and I no longer own a PS2 to change it on. But as I recall when I changed parental settings was once a DVD movie was actually loaded.

I found this post that looks like what I was thinking of

    Password Reset
    Change Parental Control Settings
I spaced out the original post since it has very poor readability, it was condensed into one paragraph.

It won't ask me for my password because it is grayed out. I can not click x or use the right arrow to interact with it. That is my problem.

I did try what you said, but I still had the same result. Thank you though.

    *Lightbulb moment*

Okay, so I figured it out, as I was having the same problem as you. My light-bulb moment was when someone said their instruction manual said "not available under the resume play options".

It means you follow all the instructions that velocityg4 gave you but after you stop the movie, you push the stop icon A SECOND TIME! This will change the icon from the color blue to the color grey that was mentioned. Then continue the instructions as provided. Hopefully that helped!
