need help with video and subtitles

hi there folks
im completely new to video editing and macs , im basically looking for advice as to what software i can use to make short films with my own subtitles on and how to go about doing this

iMovie and its title tool could work.

Final Cut Express will also do what you want I guess, with its Title Tool.

iMoive (included with the OS)
Final Cut Express
Final Cut Pro
Adobe Premier
Avid Media Composer

How to go about using them differs depending on the application you chose.
