I am new with macs. I bought a older laptop. Its a powerbook G4 with 667 MHZ. I have An airport Card in it however it doesnt read any networks. The Icon stays gray. I have a regular Linksys router with a password. Do I need a special router from apple or does ANY router work? I need some help cause i want to be able to be wireless. Thanks

any router should work just fine. just make sure you got the signals right. older wireless cards only pickup certain G or B signals. maybe you mixed something up somewhere. that's all i can think about. good luck.

That model of PowerBook only has 802.11b support, so ensure that your router is configured to accommodate that. There's no need to use an Apple router.

Make sure the Network preferences are setup correctly. Go to the Apple menu in the upper-left corner, and choose System Preferences. Click the Network icon, and look at the Airport preferences. Make sure everything looks accurate.
