Ok, so I learned you could reset the admin password by booting into single user mode. My mac user name is Mac User. So I typed passwd MacUser without any spaces and it said enter new password, I did and then typed it in again. It keeps saying Sorry. It says nothing else except sorry. What does this mean?

Am I the only one that has seen this? Why do I have such good luck?

OK wait. Is your user name Mac User or MacUser. These are 100% different usernames to the OS. If it's Mac User you need to type it as Mac\ User on the command line.

Thanks!

Definitely will have to remember that for the future. I was typing Mac User and that did not work, then I typed MacUser and it asked to change the password so I thought I was doing it right, but nope. Your way worked.
