hey everyone, first time posting here, and have a question for you iPhone savvy folks. i currently do not have an iPhone, and am looking at getting one. hence lies the problem, i can go with the 3gs or go with the new 4. would it be best to go with the latest and greatest, or go with one that has been out for a while and all bugs worked out, dont have a real feel for any of it yet, as i dont have one curretnly. what would you guys do in my spot, thanks

compare the two and go from there.
it depends on your budget, and what features you think you will/will not use.

As far as the first shipment of products, I'm always hesitant, but if there's something wrong Apple is usually good with replacements.

I do not think that you would have to worry about bugs. If you have a faulty phone, you can bring it back to Apple or wherever you got it.

It really all comes down to what you can afford and such. If you can afford it, go with the iPhone 4.

Go with the iPhone 4 if u buy the 3gs and see how it easy to use u would regret u didn't go with the newest

thanks for the quick responses, currently have 2 lines that are ready for upgrade, have been with AT&T for 5+ years and have the grandfathered data, so that is non issue, price wise, a new 16g 3gs is 149, and if i have seen correctly it is looking like the new 4 is going to be in the 200 range, so not really much difference, so price isnt an issue with either.

You can always try to get both since you have two eligible lines. Decide which one you (and the other person) likes better. I believe that you have 30 days to exchange it. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

The 3Gs is getting bumped down to $99. the iPhone 4 will either be $199 or $299

Get the iPhone 4. The only bugs you would see would be in software...and its basically the same software that has been being used since the first iPhone in 2007.

Then he would have to pay a restocking fee...just get the new one. By the time you will upgrade again the 3Gs will be 3 year old technology.
