Hi. I just bought a Macbook Pro.

My wife is trying to stream Asian videos that have Chinese on the left channel and Korean on the right. She needs to mute one of the input channels.

In WinXP, the "Wave" input in Volume Control could be panned all the way over to isolate the desired language track.

OS-X 10.5.5 has a Sound preferences setting for output balance, but not for input. This simply changes which speaker the combined left and right channels are sent to.

Is there an OS-X audio control available that has the knobs I want? I've Googled and I've seen a lot of audio software, but most are for music production and are not the tool I need.

Any help would be greatly appreciated -- this is her new computer and she watches a LOT of these videos.

Need input balance control utility (solved)

Hi.

Just to close this out, I found a tool that does what I need:

Soundflower and it's finder widget, Soundflowerbed. I set up soundflower 2ch as the input and output device, then used soundflowerbed to mute the individual channels.

Golden for now.
