Does anyone know a good buyer's guide/info source for LCD monitors? I'm an idiot when it comes to the different specs and options.

    For example, I'm thinking of buying a Samsung 930B (19"). I've got a 12" Powerbook G4.

On the Amazon site (I don't plan on buying it from there), it says it includes a D-sub VGA cable. Further down it says it includes a D-Sub cable and a DVI cable. Does this mean I wouldn't need to buy anything to use the digital input? (And if this or another monitor doesn't come with a DVI cable, what kind would I need to get?)

ok - first things first, whats your budget and what do you need a bigger screen for (photoshop / newspapper publishing etc?)

Well let's assume I'm willing to spend the ~$350 that this monitor would cost. I don't have very intensive visual requirements in mind, I'm just setting up a desktop environment for my PB. Would I not notice the difference between analog and digital if I don't need it for Photoshop or something like that?

Also, I see in another review (Circuit City) that this monitor doesn't come with a DVI cable, and I would need a DVI-D cable. This is why I was getting confused.
