Received the Koss KPH40
I don't know if I got a defective set or what but it sounds as if I'm in an echo chamber.
Horrible sound quality, the headband was crushing my skull but if the sound quality was worth it I would have waited until they loosened up.
I plugged them into my iPod and tried a few songs, Day After Day by Badfinger which sounds great on my old as dirt Sennheiser HD414's, sounded so bad I couldn't listen to it. I tried putting the EQ on Rock as I had before but if anything it sounded worse.
This is the second set of KOSS Headphones I have tried recently and I am done with this brand.
I will try a pair of Sennheiser's next, pay more to hopefully get better sound quality. Actually nothing could sound worse than these.
I thought your choice was a blunder but didnt want to bring you down.

Still recommending the Sony MDR-7506

Roland just released last year their take on V-Moda's M-100, they made a consumer M-10 and professional M-100 Pro. I got the M-100 Pro over this past Christmas and absolutely love them. Rock solid, bass-forward without sounding heavy or distorted.

I really like my Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro. I have the 32 Ohm version.
Maybe the 32's are more efficient but my 80 ohm's need some oomph (not been an issue with any device I've connected to so far tbh, I should probably try em with my ipod classic if I can find it)

I found these to be incredibly good with sound quality far exceeding the price.

I’m sure you think highly of your suggestion, but these won’t work with an iPod classic.
