So I just sold my iPad 3 so that I'd have enough money for the iPhone 5. That's fine. But I'm not sure how I should go about ordering it. This is how it looks:

I have Verizon right now and my upgrade isn't till the end of next year. Do I pay a crap ton of money for a contract free phone or can I save money by adding another line? (Apple site says I may need a deposit??)

I was thinking of instead switching to AT&T and terminating Verizon. They want a $150 deposit according to Apple's website. Can I pay that at an AT&T store and will it count towards the price of the phone or am I just paying for something else?

You pay the $150 for the deposit, plus the cost of the phone.

Buy the phone full price on VZW. Best network for 4g, hands down.
Do not give in to the cheap price for "shared plan." Keep your unlimited data and pay the full price. You'll appreciate it in the end when you aren't worrying about going over your data on 4g.

I don't have unlimited data? Also can't afford to pay more than $600 as that's all I have for it.

Oh come on, can nobody help me out here?

Help?

If money is so tight you have to sell an Ipad first, well...

VZ vs ATT. NO idea what coverage is like in your area, and where you will use the phone. No idea of your volume of data usage.

Why would anyone pay extra money just to get the latest phone? Both phones make phone calls. Both make data connections. Both phones....

I guess I just put more value on the use of my money.

Hey... you asked for help.

Money is always tight

VZ: About 1-2 bars of LTE in my area (Delaware County, just outside of Philadelphia)
ATT: Supposedly just turned on LTE in Philadelphia, trying to find out if it's in Delaware County as well
Data usage: Only need about 2 gigs for not
