Hi! I'm completely computer illiterate-- I use the net for a few dozen web site's, media viewing and writing stuff. My question; I recently got my own wifi hot spot for my apartment-- I was on the public line before and it was being over-used. Is there a way to default my wifi connection to my new line instead of the old slow line? It's starting to drive me nuts. I don't have time to search for an answer.

Click the wifi icon in the menu bar then go to Open Network Preferences. Then in the advanced button select the wifi tab. Now drag the networks in the order you want with the hotspot at the top. You can also remove the other public network if you want by selecting it and clicking the minus at the bottom.
