No you need a set of discs that say G4 cube. OS 9.1 retail or higher will work also.

thanks. i just realized that G4 cube probably shipped with 0S 9 so I will be looking for 9.1 retail then. does this mean it will boot retail OS 9 cd with all the drivers etc. ?

so after that I'll probably look for 10.4 to have dual booting in Classic OS/OS X. So that means OS9 partition shouldnt be larger than 7GB or does that apply only for older Macs?

My Cube discs say "Power Machintosh G4" on them. Any 9.1, 9.2, or 9.2.1 retail disc can be used to install OS 9 onto a Cube.

now Im really confused :D someone says I need restore discs labeled "G4 Cube" then you say it's possible with "Power Macintosh G4" disks. Are you sure, have you tried it?

Yeah I know about retail disks - they should work too.
