So I currently have the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. I absolutely LOVE this device. It is super quick and I use the S-Pen to take notes at work and such. I am, however, considering getting an iPhone again. The regular sized 8 is not an option but I am torn between the 8+ and the X. I like that the 8+ is a similar size as the Note 8 but I also like that the X is edge to edge like my Note. Such a tough decision!

Why leave the Note8 then.. especially if you love it?

I am the ONLY person in my entire family who does not have an iPhone. I guess I miss that "ecosystem" even though I much prefer the Android OS.

I'd say get the X then, since you have a Note 8, the iPhone 8+ will look like a dinosaur design-wise.
Tis true I guess. I love the old design but man it really is tough having large bezels after having basically no bezels.

Yeah I'm just torn between the 8+ and the X lol

Yeah so get both like I am lol. I have a 8/+ will get the X. Will have my note 8 first week of October. Will get the v30 lol will get the pixel xl 2. Will get the essential phone. May get the u11 plus

Well what do you do on your phone? Do you watch a lot of movies, or play games? If that's the case, the 8+ may be better as you don't have an annoying knotch in landscape, and you actually have a place to rest your thumbs (the bezels) when you play games.

I use it for social media, email, and the occasional movie on Hulu on a long trip.

Yeah, totally understand. I asked because I am in the same exact “first world problem” conundrum :). My whole family and work family all have the iPhone. I use Apple Music (Family plan)...and miss iMessage big time. BUT i love the NOTE8. It is such a great phone, love Samsung Pay, love the pen..etc. But i miss the ecosystem and vertical experience with my family and my other apple devices.

So, I think I am in the same boat, gonna get the 8+, go back and forth probable between that and the note. Then when X comes out, i will get that as well and probably sell the 8+ on eBay and recoup some of the $.

You don't need advice...you need more money so you can afford both.

Now that...is a first-world problem.

the X will feel too small vs. the Note in spite of the new bezel-less design.
definitely should go with the +

op I also love the plus size iPhones, been using one for 3 years now.

Here is a quick pick of an X vs iPhone plus

Wish I could find one in landscape. I’m actually looking forward to a new design and chose the X over 8 plus. I do use my phone mostly in portrait except for watching YouTube.

well just remember that when you'll watch YT on the X - you'll have to do it with black bars on each side, resembling the regular 8 size screen. if you'll wanna zoom in the X's full screen the image will be cropped to fit.

Yeah, I’ve thought about this. And even though it’s a negative, it’s about the only negative I can think of with how I would use the phone. Still enough for me to want to try a new design. I would say almost everything else is in portrait. Photo taking is the only other time .
