I am looking at getting a low end laptop.
the local store still has a few of the 2.16 laptops for the same price as the new 2.0 ones.
Specs wise the only differences are
New one old one
processor 2.0 2.16
HD 80gig 120 gig
DVD/CD combo drive superdrive
OS 10.5 10.4 (tiger)
Price 1199 1199

Visually are they the same ? what else am I missing?
Comes with one gig of ram, is it 2 512 or 1gig? I have a spare 1 gig piece from my imac upgrade. Please advice.

I would go for the 2.16ghz for the extra speed and that version being a mbp would have a better graphics card. so thats what i would do. im a little confused i think your comparing a mb to a mbp if so definetly get the mbp. thats a good price to.

About the RAM it would have 2 512 sticks, you could use your 1gb stick in the mbp and give you 1.5gb of RAM if your 1gb stick is compatible with that mbp model.

thanks for the reply. I will get the 2.16 then.

Definitely. And bump the RAM up with some (approved) aftermarket RAM from someone like OWC. Last time I looked a 2G kit was under $50. It's silly not to do it when RAM is so cheap, and there is nothing that will give you a better bang for your buck.
